A great many years ago, I was not only an avid reader of otaku senshi fanfiction - fanfiction based on the anime Sailormoon involving fan-created sailor senshi - but also a writer of it. Ho), were spectacular favorites for this black writer...mainly because, well they were of African descent(in their current reincarnation forms). Back in the day, I even had begun work on a concept called United Sailors, an all-star otaku senshi team with Sirius as a major part of it. Of course, that fell through. But currently, as a homage to Ms. Ai's wonderful creation, I wanted to do an official Defrost version of Sailor Sirius/Princess Tonica Knightstar...well technically, a hypothetical version.

Another inspiration is this pic: , in which Sailors Sirius and Polaris meet Black Panther. Essentially, Gossamer views Sailor Sirius with the same reverence as Sirius views Panther. Maybe one day I'll get a picture commissioned of Gossamer posing with Sirius, Polaris, and Chibi-Sirius.

So, in the tradition of MISS ONYX: DEFROST: WHO IS MISS ONYX? As an African-American myself, I naturally gravitated towards superheroines of African descent, so when Dangerguy01(https://dangerguy01.deviantart.com/) created Midnight Avenger(), I fell in love with her. Defrost as a concept was just forming then, so a few months later I was inspired to do my own version of Tori Walker in the Defrost mythos, so to speak. The masterful Dangerguy and I came up with this: . Now inspired by his new profile for the original Midnight Avenger, I decided to do a journal with the Defrost universe version of Tori Walker. She essentially plays the same role to Gossamer as she does to Duster, lol.

TRANSFORMATION:

"Sirius Star Power, Make-up!"- Tanya shouts this to turn into Sailor Sirius. She throws up her right hand, and her fingernails are painted black with little black stars floating around them, and a white, six-pointed star shines on her forehead, then the Emerald jewel, (the Sirius Emerald Star Stone) glows a dark blue and envelopes her in it. The Star Stone then morphs and transforms into the six-pointed gold star on her yellow front bow. After a minute, the glow bursts into little white stars and swirls around her, and Tanya stands as Sailor Sirius, in a black, yellow, white, and navy blue Sailor fuku, with a black opal in her tiara.

POWERS:

"Sirius Scepter, Illuminate!!"- Sailor Sirius points her Sirius scepter at her enemy, and a powerful blast of pure light energy shots out from it to the enemy's eyes, blinding it for up to hours. Sailor Sirius can also use this scepter to neutralize and weaken an enemy's attack, giving time for the other Sailor Senshi to power up if they are exhausted.

"Sirius Infrared Laser, Disintegrate!"-Sailor Sirius's body glows a red aura, then she lifts up her left hand. A massive red beam of pure infrared shots out of her palm and shoots straight at the enemy. When it strikes the enemy, it flashes red for a second, then slowly disintegrates from the head down to the feet, leaving nothing but black sand in it's place.

"Sirius Gravity, Devastation!"- Sailor Sirius's body now glows a blue aura, then spins once and lifts her right hand. An electricity-like wave of blue energy shots out of her hand, and strikes the enemy or enemies, and when it hits them, their weight is increased over a thousand-fold, and they are crushed instantly on the spot. After a few agonizing seconds, they explode.


SUPER SAILOR SIRIUS:

"Sirius Emerald Star Power, Make-up!"- Tanya shouts this, and the Sirius Emerald Starstone glows a dark violet light that envelopes her body. The light then gets thinner and swirls around her body. The powered up Sirius Emerald Star Stone morphes and transforms into the large black opal on her white bow on her chest. When the lights dissipates, she is now standing as Super Sailor Sirius in a white, black, and violet Sailor fuku with a white opal in her golden tiara.

"Sirius Kiss of Death, Captivation!"- Super Sailor Sirius shouts this, and her body glows a red aura. She then kisses her right palm, and throws the imprint of the kiss to the enemy, making it look harmless. The imprint flies towards the enemy and grows bigger and bigger as it gets closer. It finally turns into a big black ball of electricity, crackling with energy as it gets closer and closer. The ball then engulfs and traps the enemy inside, and gets smaller and smaller to about the size of a man's fist, crushing the enemy. After a few quiet seconds, it explodes, sending pieces of the enemy everywhere as dust particles.


Physical Description: Tanya has the classical beauty of a Black model. She has soft, VERY dark fudge-brown skin and large hazel-brown eyes that sometimes turn brighter and greyish with her changing emotions and when she is in the sun. Many people have said that her eyes have a rather childlike quality, and shines with a brilliant innocence. Another trait of hers is that she is always blushing, whether it be because of a cute guy, from running, or is just plain embarrassed. ^.^ Her hair is jet black, thick and straight, and goes down to her waist. Tanya has sensuous cherry red lips and a dimple on her right cheek. Tanya's most misleading attribute is that she is quite short, and a bit on the thin side, but her surprising strength and agility is enough to take care of and defeat her enemies as the powerful Sailor Sirius.


PRESENT FAMILY:

Dr. Peter Cambridge- Father of Tanya Cambridge. A six-foot tall Jamaican-born American (he was naturalized as an American citizen when he came to America when he was 18 years old.) He was a doctor for many years before becoming a religious missionary who travels to distant countries to spread Christianity, which ultimately led him to Lybia where he meet his wife. His wife, Judith Cambridge, died when Tanya was only 8 years old. Judith was originally from the African country of Kenya, but was placed in an orphanage when her parents died shortly after moving to Lybia. Judith died of malaria shortly after contracting it on a missionary trip to Zaire with her husband.

Anna Linette Kendon: Cousin to Tanya, born in Manhattan, New York City. Anna's mother is the only sister to Tanya's father, who died tragically in a car accident. Anna is also known as the powerful Sailor Polaris, Senshi of the North Star.



GOSSAMER MEETS SAILOR SIRIUS:

Tanya Cambridge is the famous writer of the highly illustrated Pretty Guardian Sailor Sirius series of novels involving a beautiful ebony-skinned princess-turned-superheroine from a long-forgotten galactic kingdom and her team of sailor guardians. Mariah Grey, the secret identity of Gossamer( ), grew up reading these, with Sailor Sirius being her greatest idol(and she's patterned her own superheroine identity after her). Recently, Tanya has moved into Harpercrest quietly, with plans to attend the local Gossamercon anime and comic convention, named after Harpercrest's greatest superheroine. However, the writer is being plagued by vivid dreams of memories she did not know exist...memories from Princess Tonica Knightstar. A few days later, she receives a package in the mail - a beautiful jewel known as the Sirius Emerald Starstone! Thinking it is a joke from fans, Tanya takes it to a jeweler, who appraises it at an extremely high price. On her way back to her brownstone, she meets a golden retriever named Marco.

How does she know his name? He introduces himself as such.

Thinking that lack of sleep is contributing to her visions, Tanya initially ignores Marco and returns home. But when the retriever shows up later, Tanya flips out...and it takes a few calming words from Marco to calm her down. Marco tells her that all the adventures she's written on the pages of her books are in actuality adventures she's had on her birth planet of Sirius-Endoria. Marco tells her that she is in reality a refugee from an alternate universe, who had her memories temporarily wiped to hide her from the Womb(in Defrost, there is no Sailormoon...or rather, Sailor Sirius has taken the place of Sailormoon, in franchise and character), an evil rival galactic civilization bent on destroying her universe. Before the discussion is taken further, Tanya receives a call from her cousin Anna Kendon, who plans to attend Gossamercon and provide support for Tanya. When Tanya hangs up, Marco informs her on both Tanya and Anna's pasts as royalty.

Meanwhile, while patrolling Harpercrest, Gossamer is drawn to strange light radiating from a club inspired by the Harlem Renaissance. When she enters, she finds all of the patrons on the floor, drained of their energy, and a strange African-American male in bizarre futuristic clothing standing in the midst of the chaos. He introduces himself as Ananzi, Womb Guardian of Spiders. Before the Queen of Absolute Cold can strike with her Zero-Point Sword, Ananzi traps her in energy-draining spiderwebs, weakening her. Laughing and promising that her universe will be next to conquer, Ananzi teleports away. So weak is Gossamer that she cannot help but to revert to her Mariah Grey identity.

The next night, Gossamer goes to her floating Ice Palace to use her powerful computer to discover the identity of her assailant, but nothing can be found. At the same time, Marco coaches Tanya in training, returning her to peak form as Sailor Sirius. Running across the city's rooftops and African-themed architecture, Sailor Sirius slowly accepts her return to her role, although she is frightened about returning to her universe. While returning to her civilian home, Gossamer sees Sailor Sirius training, but thinks that it is only her imagination. Unknown to both...Ananzi watches from the shadows and grins wickedly.

The next day is Gossamercon. Tanya is there with her own panel, signing autographs and telling rabid fans about writer's block on the latest volume of Sailor Sirius's adventures. In attendance is Mariah Grey and her best friend Io. Mariah is a geeky mess, so excited to meet the writer of her idol's adventures that she is besides herself with joy. When she does meet Tanya, Mariah is uber nervous, but manages to shake Tanya's hand. When she gets her autographed copy of Sirius Volume One, she sheds a few tears of joy. Sailor Sirius really was a big influence on Gossamer's mannerisms and mindset...her fictional big sister, more or less. Anna Kendon shows up in the audience to cheer her famous cousin on.

As this particular panel takes place in a closed-off room, the disguised Ananzi slips in and telekinetically bolts the doors, trapping everyone inside. With his webs, he entraps and drains almost everyone...with the exception of Tanya and Mariah, who transform into Sailor Sirius and Gossamer respectfully. Gossamer appears first and challenges Ananzi, who, after a pitched battle, ensnares her in his energy-draining web. Fortunately, a replay of their last encounter is staved off by the intervention of Sailor Sirius!! In her regal tone, Sirius orders Ananzi to release Gossamer and pay the price for hurting her family. Gossamer, of course, is in shock...the stories she's read all of her life are real!

As if reading the novels, Gossamer can only watch as Sirius and Ananzi battle. After a stalemate, Sirius defeats him with a KISS OF DEATH...but the man teleports away before lasting damage can be witnessed. Gossamer is stunned to see her idol in the flesh. Marco appears, and tells Sirius that it is time to return to their own universe to resume the war against the Womb. Anna is awoken by Sirius, who tells her about her identity of Sailor Polaris. While they talk, Marco opens a portal to Sirius-Endoria and Gossamer(helping the still weakened Anna), Sailor Sirius, and the dog enter, finding themselves in a beautiful, glorious galactic kingdom. After settling Anna in the infirmary, Sirius fills Gossamer in on her temporary exile to Gossamer's Earth, etc(Gossamer, of course, fills in the blanks thanks to reading all of the books). Gossamer then offers to stay with Sirius to finish the war, but Sirius declines, transforming into her Princess Tonica Knightstar form. Sirius reminds her that she has her own Earth to protect. After a tearful goodbye(and a few pictures to remember the encounter), Marco returns Gossamer to Harpercrest with a promise that the royal family will visit the city again soon.
